After most Wiccan’s learn to shield they tend to overlook the further possibilities and just how powerful the art can be.
Yes i call it an art, just like any type of magic from basic incantations to complex ritual that take place over weeks, all magic is an art and i shall…
Before I gave it away, I used to shield my car. From accidents, from police attention, from breaking down in stupid places. Most of these “shields” or protections were self-sustaining or were tied to an object kept within the car. Shields powered by talismans, I guess? I don’t even know.
Because of the self-sustaining nature of the shields, I suspect many of them are still intact, so long as the owner of the vehicle has not removed or defaced the actual objects the shields were linked to.
Examples of how I knew shielding worked:
I was never pulled over once in that car, despite the fact that it was always missing one or more windows and looked like it had been in a wreck or three, and there were several lights missing/broken on it that I could have been pulled over for. I had been tailed by cops dozens of times, but never pulled over. Although I drove that car for quite a while with a very badly damaged windshield, it was not until I let someone else drive it that it the driver was pulled over and ticketed to have the window replaced. Also, we were pulled over once because a particular person was in my car that night, and he was a cop-magnet. There was no way the police knew he was in the vehicle, but literally EVERY car he rides in gets pulled over somehow.
Several times, there were situations where someone almost hit me, or where I encountered bad weather and almost went into the ditch. I drove for several months (unknowlingly) with a broken sway bar on my car, which could have caused a failure in a sharp or fast turn that could have involved the car going off the road, or wheels flying off. Shortly before I discovered the problem, my mother commented about a certain object that had been hanging from my rear view mirror since the car came into my possession. She asked if it wasn’t about time to take that down… I told her it served a purpose. A few weeks later, I discovered the problem with the car and we had it fixed. The VERY first time I turned a corner after the sway bar had been replaced, the object snapped free of its tether and landed on the floor of the car. Maybe not a shield per se, but I definitely believe that object protected the car, and the connection broke because it was no longer needed, or had been used up.
My car also never broke down somewhere where it needed to be towed. Although usually reliable, the one major time I had issues with my car was when the ignition failed on it. It had been on the fritz for over a year, although I had no clue why sometimes the steering would lock up or the car wouldn’t start. Then, one week it finally started to really “go out”. It got to the point where the car was seriously dangerous, and I was literally driving it to my repair shop when it almost gave out on me in the middle of traffic. It shut off and died right in the road outside the place I was taking it to be repaired. I got it started, and pulled it into the garage and that was it. The ignition died right there, never to work again. They had to push, PUSH the car into the repair bay. By some miracle, the car managed to get safely to where it needed to be, without killing me in traffic. Again, might not be shielding, but what is shielding, anyway?
Protection.
wow, who the heck absorbed my post lol, and omg car person that is the type of innovation i have been alluding too. That type of shield, if i remember correct is called…oh well, yes it is shield, the object is tied to the person, and then tied to another object. most likely your cop magnet friend just wasn’t able to power your shield, the way you naturally did. This is honestly an amazing idea, I’m actually gonna have to try it myself :)
